With best New Year’s wishes.

The number of tourists visiting Japan has increased significantly from 2023 to 2024. As of the end of November 2024, it had exceeded 33 million people a year, surpassing 2019 and setting a new record high. We have overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and are back to a time when we can travel freely. I hope that many people will enjoy Japan's wonderful nature, history, and culture.

On the other hand, the number of Japanese people leaving Japan for overseas travel is only about 12 million, which is only about 60% of the number in 2019. Although this is due to the recent significant depreciation of the yen, it is still sad.

According to the Chinese zodiac, which was passed down to Japan from ancient China, this year is Kinotomi, which means "snake," and is said to be a year of "rebirth into a new self" and "efforts will bear fruit and develop."
This website was launched in the summer of 2024, and 2025 will mark its second year. In addition to providing local information about Japan, this year we will also be delivering useful information for countries outside of Japan, so that travel will become even more popular around the world.

Let's enjoy traveling freely in 2025!

(Data source) The above numbers of foreign tourists visiting Japan and the number of people leaving Japan are both surveyed by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)
