Overview of JR Tokyo Station Yaesu South Bus Stop

When you leave JR Tokyo Station through the front door at the Yaesu South Exit, the Yaesu South Exit bus stop will be right in front of you. Bus stops (1)-(9) at the front are for express buses operated by JR Bus Kanto and other companies, while bus stops (10)-(12) at the back are for Toei buses that mainly run within Tokyo's 23 wards. The bus stop numbers match the numbers (1)-(12) in the image below.

How to get to the express bus ticket office

If you are taking an express bus from Yaesu, you will need to purchase a ticket in advance. If you don't have a ticket, you can purchase one at the ticket office. After exiting the Yaesu South Exit ticket gate, go straight and exit the building, then turn right when you exit the station building. After walking a little way along the building, you will find the ticket counter just a little behind bus stop #9.

When you enter the ticket office building, there is a manned counter in front, a waiting room, toilets, and coin lockers at the back left, and ticket vending machines, automatic machines, and a shop on the right.

The ticket vending machines for the bus to Narita Airport only accept cash payments. You cannot purchase multiple tickets at once, so buy one ticket at a time.

How to buy tickets from a ticket machine

All tickets, including those to Narita Airport, can be purchased from the ticket vending machine. There are three main menus:

Buy ticket (for today): Purchase a ticket for boarding on the same day

Buy ticket (for tomorrow or later): Purchase a ticket for boarding the next day or later

Buy reserved ticket: If you have already reserved a ticket via Japan Expressway Bus Net or by phone, you can pay and pick up your ticket here.

How to buy tickets (for today)

When you press the "Buy ticket (for today)" button from the main menu, potential destinations departing from Tokyo Station will be displayed. If no options are displayed on the screen, press "Next".

When you want to purchase a ticket for the bus that returns to Tokyo Station (return trip), please press the green button at the bottom of the screen (“Swap departure and arrival points”).

After selecting your destination, check the details such as the fare and date of use (expiration date), and if it's OK, press the "Select" button.

Press the arrow button to the right of the number of passengers, enter the number of tickets you wish to purchase, and press the green "Confirm" button at the bottom right of the screen.

When the screen below appears, pay with cash or credit card. Your purchase is now complete.

Ticket vending machines are available in five languages

The ticket vending machine is available in five languages: English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), and Korean. The default setting is Japanese. Click the language button in the top right of the main menu (red frame in the image below) to switch to your desired language.

The drop-off point is the Nihonbashi Exit

The drop-off point for express buses arriving at Tokyo Station is the Nihonbashi Exit on the north end of the station.

Please note that expressway buses do not arrive at the Yaesu Bus Stops.
