Expressway bus from Tokyo Station!?
Tokyo Station is the gateway to Tokyo, the capital of Japan, where approximately 14 million people live. Tokyo Station is a huge terminal station where the Shinkansen, conventional trains, and subway lines converge, but in fact, buses are an attractive option other than trains. Since the way to ride a bus varies depending on the area, you may find it a little difficult to ride one when you're traveling. There are surprisingly many bus routes and frequency, and highway buses depart from the Yaesu South bus stop to distant destinations, making it a very convenient way to travel. So, this time we will introduce a complete guide on how to purchase highway bus tickets! When you leave JR Tokyo Station through the front door at the Yaesu South Exit, the Yaesu South Exit bus stop will be right in front of you. Bus stops (1)-(9) at the front are for express buses operated by JR Bus Kanto and other companies, while bus stops (10)-(12) at the back are for Toei buses that mainly run within Tokyo's 23 wards. The bus stop numbers match the numbers (1)-(12) in the image below.
The highway bus stops are marked with blue, while the Toei bus stops are marked with green.
If you are taking an express bus from Yaesu, you will need to purchase a ticket in advance. If you don't have a ticket, you can purchase one at the ticket office.
